Cart rental, off the clipboard.

Cart Barn replaces the paper log at your rental window with a checkout system built for how a pro shop actually runs — fleet status, return verification, and a liability waiver that's already yours, ready in an afternoon.

You already know the old way

A clipboard doesn't tell you which cart is still out, doesn't hold anyone to a signed waiver, and doesn't survive a spilled coffee.

Clipboard at the window

  • Someone has to remember whose cart is whose, and a mistake means searching the lot mid-round
  • Waivers signed on paper, filed away, and never actually enforceable when it matters
  • No record of who checked equipment out when a damage dispute comes up
  • Illegible handwriting, coffee-stained pages, missing entries
  • New front-desk staff spend their first shifts squinting at yesterday's log

Cart Barn at the window

  • Live view of every cart: out, returned, or overdue, visible to anyone at the desk
  • Digital waiver signed on the spot, timestamped, pulled up in seconds if you need it
  • Every checkout logged with the staff account and time that processed it
  • Clean, typed records — nothing to misread, nothing to lose
  • A new hire can run the counter their first shift without someone standing over their shoulder

Built for the front desk, not a boardroom

No modules you'll never touch. Just the parts of the day that currently run on paper.

Live fleet tracking

See every cart's status the moment it changes — checked out, returned, or overdue — right from the front desk.

Your waiver, automatically

Your course's name and location are already built into the liability agreement for every rental.

Return verification

Log the condition of a cart the moment it comes back — an actual record, not someone's memory.

Manager & front-desk roles

Give your counter staff exactly what they need, and keep admin settings for management only.

Guided checkout flow

A step-by-step checkout walks staff through the same process every time, even during a rush.

Set up in an afternoon

Add your logo, your fleet, and your staff logins yourself. No install, no IT department.

Why I built this

I manage a golf course here in North Dakota, and for years our front desk ran off a paper clipboard — a sign-out sheet for carts, a stack of waiver forms nobody read twice, and whoever was working the counter that day as the only record of who had which cart, and when.

It worked, until it didn't: a cart nobody could account for, a damage question with no record to settle it, a new hire trying to decode last week's handwriting on their first Saturday. I built Cart Barn on nights and weekends to fix that for our own front desk first — not as a side project I hoped to sell someday, just something I needed to stop dreading Saturday mornings.

It's been running our own checkout window ever since. If your course is still working off the same clipboard, I think it can save your front desk the same headaches it saved mine.

Is there a contract?
No. It's month-to-month — cancel anytime and you keep access through the end of what you've paid for.
How long does setup take?
Most courses are checking out their first cart the same afternoon.
Do you support club or bag rental?
Not yet — Cart Barn is cart-only for now, on purpose.
What if I need help switching over?
Email works best — no phone tag. I'll walk you through it.
